Emphasize:
  1. Leafy greens such as spinach, swiss chard, collard greens, kale, mustard greens, parsley (check out my favorite parsley salad recipe)
  2. Beans and legumes such as soy (tofu, tempeh, soy milk, etc), black beans, kidney beans, lima beans, azuki beans, mung beans, navy beans, garbanzo beans, lentils, pinto beans, split peas
  3. Nuts and seeds such as pine nuts, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, walnut, almonds, flaxseeds
  4. Vegetables oils such as olive oil, flaxseed, sesame oil, etc
  5. Fruits such as apples, pears (especially asian pears), papaya, mango, pineapple, orange, grapefruit, lemon, lime
  6. Drink 8 - 10 glasses of spring water daily
  7. Incorporate in bee pollen (my favorite source is Y.S. Organic Farm), vitamin B-complex, and vitamin C
  8. Cardiovascular exercise such as walking, biking, hiking, low impact aerobics, slow jogging, jump rope, stair climbing
  9. Wash face first with warm water then followed by cold water
  10. Use only natural topical creams and products on your face and skin
  11. Get plenty of rest and relaxation, sleeping on your back as much as possible
  12. Be Happy! Your face reflects your inner state and health

Avoid:
  1. Sun exposure - use a natural sun screen (this is our favorite) and wear hats
  2. Rubbing eyes and scratching face
  3. Chemical based make up, moisturizer, after shave, cologne, perfume, sunscreen
  4. Self extract black heads and pimples - see a professional for a facial, not only is better for your skin its a well deserved treat for your face
  5. Smoking, drinking alcohol, drugs (unless medically prescribed)
  6. Lack of rest, relaxation, and sleep
