Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation

Transform your skin from the inside out naturally and effectively with out surgery or chemical injections.

Cosmetic acupuncture
Also known as facial acupuncture, is an ancient beauty secret and is used by both men and women as a non-toxic way to:
  • Minimize fine lines and wrinkles from the face
  • Reduces the signs of aging by renewing the glow of the skin and providing a youthful look to the face.
  • Increasing the circulation of blood flow to the wrinkles and thus producing more collagen production, resulting in less wrinkle formation.
For these session we use a combination of facial rejuvenation acupuncture, facial cupping, gua sha, and LED Light therapy to help our clients attain healthy and vibrant skin.

Gua Sha and Facial Cupping Only Session
This treatment will bring collagen to the surface, reduces puffiness & dark circles, diminish lines, drain nasal sinuses and lymphatic system. The increased local blood supply will bring nourishment to the muscles and skin and allow for toxins to be carried away via the veins and the lymphatic system. Patients describe feeling very relaxed and deep warmth, and tingling sensation long after the treatment has ended.

What will it feel like?
If you are familiar with typical acupuncture, you know you may have a slight, initial sensation when the needle is inserted, but then it is fine.  The face is very sensitive, so you will naturally have more sensation with facial needling. Therefore, needles are inserted firmly. However, the discomfort is not long-lasting. Once all the needles are inserted, usually within ten or fifteen minutes, the discomfort recedes, and you relax comfortably with the needles for 15 - 25 minutes. After the needles are removed, you may feel energized, deeply relaxed, or both. You may feel your skin has tightened, or your face is lifted. You may feel a sense of well-being.

What are the side effects?
The side effect that usually concerns patients the most is bruising.  If you opt to do the treatment we do our best to avoid bruising but it is not always possible. It is not a matter of if, it is a matter of when. You will bruise, and likely much more than once. The bruises can be small or large, flat or swollen, on any part of the face.  Bruises typically take 5 - 10 days to fade. The separate consent form for acupuncture of the face and eye includes more information about facial bruising.

How should I handle bruises?
Bruises can be rubbed very, very gently with the fingertips and some arnica gel, eye cream, or other light skin lubricant, to stimulate circulation to carry away the stuck blood.  This will also be done during your session. You can cover them up if you wish with concealer or other make-up. They generally fade on their own without care in about 5 - 10 days, but may take longer than that.

What commitment is required from me?
As with all medical care, you are free to say yes or no to whatever care you like. You can try a treatment and decide it isn’t for you and not continue. You can ask that certain areas not be needled. I may counsel you that for best effect, certain areas need to be included, but ultimately, you are in control. It is recommended to repeat a session every two weeks for four to six weeks, then monthly thereafter for 3 months.

How long do the results last?
The most dramatic results can last anywhere from 18 months to three years. Acupuncture Facial Rejuvenation repairs and restores the health and vitality but time and gravity are inevitable, and your skin may eventually become damaged again. To curb this result, you can repeat the full course of treatment altogether down the road, or come in for periodic maintenance treatments. Unlike cosmetic surgery, no one will ever tell you that you've had too much acupuncture.

Micro and Nano Needling

 Micro-Needling is effectively used for:
  • TEXTURE (and TIGHTENING)!
  • Resurfacing skin: improving the texture of skin (without the use of heat or invasive lasers involving extended down time, or thinning of the dermal layer)
  • Melasma
  • Fading/removing stretch marks (!!) this is one of the only treatments that yields amazing results without heat or ablative lasers
  • Reducing/removing acne scars, as well as other scarring (including hypertrophic scars) caused by surgery or thermal burns
  • Fading/removing stretch marks
  • Reducing fine lines and deep wrinkles
  • Tightening sagging skin
The goal in any facial rejuvenation treatment is to make the fibroblasts in the skin produce more collagen. Collagen provides the scaffolding and support (volume and lift) for your skin.  Another added benefit is by creating micro-channels with a Microneedling pen, the absorption of serums and creams are increased by 80%. These tiny channels also stimulate the healing response in your skin which in turn starts the production of new , fresh collagen
.
All appointments will include a powerful, rich serum customized for you along with Celluma LED light therapy, and constitutional acupuncture treatment

General Pre Treatment Instructions

    • Vitamin E supplements
  • Avoid alcohol 24 hours before your appointment.

Post Treatment Instructions
  • Avoid exercise or strenuous actives for 24 hours post treatment
  • It is best to avoid the use of makeup or other products, with the exception of anything recommended by your provider, for a minimum of 12 hours post treatment.
  • Avoid sun by staying indoors or wearing a wide brimmed hat until all redness as subsided.
  • For the 3 days post treatment, for product recommendations and instructions given by your provider, as it is important to avoid certain products and chemicals while the channels of the skin are so open.
  • We highly recommend using freshly washed bedding and/or pillowcases to avoid contamination of the treated areas post treatment.

Treatment Plan Recommendations

While some benefits may be noticeable after one treatment, for best results we do recommend that this treatment be done in a series. Our recommended treatment series consists of monthly Micro Needling for six to eight months. Once desired results have been achieved, we recommend maintenance treatments to be completed every 3 months.
