San Francisco Integrative Medicine founder, Dr. Laurie Terzo, DAOM, L.Ac., FABORM, is licensed by the Acupuncture Board of California in both acupuncture and herbal medicine. Dr. Terzo graduated with a Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) from the American College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in San Francisco with a dual specialty in Women’s Health and Pain Management. She is currently working on research on the combined use of traditional Chinese medicine and IVF in infertility. Dr. Terzo is also a board certified Fellow with the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine (ABORM). This is a concentrated subspecialty in Fertillity & Reproductive Medicine within the field of Oriental Medicine. The ABORM board was formed by leading professionals in Oriental Reproductive Medicine to set a standard of care in the field and ensure that practitioners who are treating patients with Oriental Medicine in the field of Reproductive Health are doing so with a qualified knowledge and experience. Traditional Chinese Medicine is a powerful medicine in its own right with a long history of treating reproductive disorders, and patients who are struggling with infertility will benefit most from knowledge of, and access to, both medicines – Western and Oriental Medicine.
She is an expert in acupuncture and herbal medicine and uses a holistic approach to treating each person. She combines acupuncture, herbal medicine, lifestyle recommendations, lab work, and nutritional recommendations to create an individualized treatment. In her practice, she treats a wide variety of complaints in addition to women’s health & fertility issues, including stress/anxiety, depression, headaches/migraines, and pain conditions.

In her spare time, Dr. Terzo loves to run on San Francisco’s hilly streets, travel off the beaten path, and explore the underwater world while scuba diving. She is passionate about both giving back to the community and public health, having served on the board of directors for the California State Oriental Medical Association and also presided as the Editor in Chief for the California Journal of Oriental Medicine, a publication which emphasizes research, clinical therapies and historical data in Oriental medicine. She also volunteers as an acupuncturist for the Charlotte Maxwell Complementary Clinic, a state licensed health clinic providing free complementary alternative medical treatments to low income women with cancer.
